Rain on Me Project: Deepanshi’s Inspiring Online Workshop

On the morning of February 5th, 2025, Deepanshi from the Rain on Me project hosted an incredible online workshop as part of the Now & Beyond Festival. Students from years 10- 13 participated in the art therapy session.

Workshop Focus: Conquering Fear & Cultivating Resilience

Deepanshi crafted a safe and supportive environment for students to share their fears and negative thoughts through interactive drawing exercises.

With her guidance, the students worked to enhance their own self-awareness by having the time and welcoming space to write down their fears.
With care Deepanshi questioned, listened and validated students’ thoughts and fears. She then shared with students how they could dig deeper to understand their fears. After naming and sharing their fears students were encouraged to flip their fears using positively framed what if statements, a powerful tool the students can take forward into their daily lives.

It is such a helpful session for people like me who want to share thoughts that they have kept to themselves. It was a call for comfort, since it brought an impact that anyone can share what they think or how they feel or what fears them most without people who laugh and instead they are listened to.

It was nice to hear everyone else’s issues or personal struggles; it was impactful to me because of the unexpected sense of connection, I could see that no one is alone in experiencing difficulties in their lives after all. Thank you, Miss Deepanshi! Your presence was very comforting and reassuring and you did an excellent job validating everyone’s feelings and experiences. I’m sure it meant a lot to everyone.

Deepanshi’s workshop has given the students tools to use in their daily lives. We are very grateful to be part of the Now & Beyond Festival for the second year running. We can’t wait to see what connections and support it provides in the following years.
